Energy Sector – Interim Management

Brief

Rigby Morrison was commissioned to manage a soft services facilities management contract in the energy sector for a 3-month interim period. This requirement was due to the contract manager unexpectedly leaving the site at short notice.

The contract consisted of 3 main locations, with an additional 15 smaller outstations. The contract provided both commercial and industrial cleaning through 20 cleaning operators, 2 supervisors, and 2 administration personnel.

Solution

Following a review of the contract to ascertain the contract management skillset, Rigby Morrison deployed a soft services facilities management consultant to manage the contract for the full 3 months period, with additional support from the Rigby Morrison central function as and when required.

Results

The contract was successfully managed during the 3 month period, with all contract KPIs achieved. In response to the results achieved during the contract management, the facilities management provider assigned Rigby Morrison to recruit the new permanent contract manager, and remain assigned to the contract as support for another 3 months.

The customer was pleased that the contract was professionally managed during a difficult and uncertain period. Furthermore, the client was also satisfied with the service delivery by Rigby Morrison, particularly considering that the departed contract manager had been in position for 15+ years and had vast site knowledge, none of which was documented.
